Biography

The SWA committee are a hard core of dedicated windsurfers, all ex students, now turned professionals they have decided to give something back as a thank you for the support of the Student Windsurf Association. Now consigned to being weekend road warriors, chasing the wind they can be found at anything resembling a windsurf competition be it BWA Wave, Xpression, or UKWA Freestyle & Slalom.

The Team focus on bringing new blood into the sport by holding numerous student events throughout the year, they cater for beginners, intermediates and advanced sailors, competitions are held across the range of skills from team racing to impromptu Turfdog and freestyle comps to fully stacked wave events. The season kicked off with a bang at Aussie Kiss this year. Where 600 students took part, with over 450 on the water throughout the weekend. Spartan donated prizes for the Team racing in addition to recognising the enthusiasm and persistence of the best beginner and instructor out in the cold water by giving away some 80’s style retro Spartan Bikinis!

Spartan have been kind enough to help out the committee by supplying them with Reflex suits to keep them toasty warm though out the year while running the competitions and events. In addition to giving all members of the SWA a 10% discount on the suits through their local shop.
